Hen Harrier Canzona

about

The days when you can look up and expect to be able to see a Hen Harrier are numbered, unless we do something. Because of shooting by gamekeepers among other reasons, they were down to 600 breeding pairs in the UK by 2012.

The piece is only nominally a canzona, but does hark back to Gabrieli's brass canzonas at least in mood. The guitar is my Harmony archtop 4-string tenor, bass is an old Samick that I pulled the fret-wires out of, Trumpet is a Vincent Bach.
